Councilman Simplot Hosts 'Movie Under the Stars'
Watching a movie in the park is no longer a thing of the past. District 4 Councilman Tom Simplot is hosting a second "Movie Under the Stars," an evening of family entertainment at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Steele Indian School Park outdoor amphitheater, located in the heart of Phoenix at Third Street and Indian School Road.
The double feature celebrates Halloween with "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and the Alfred Hitchcock classic, "The Birds." Candy bags will be given to the first 300 children dressed in their Halloween finest.
"Our first movie night brought out more than 1,000 families and friends who relaxed on blankets and lawn chairs in the park's amphitheater," said Simplot. "This free event is quickly becoming a central city favorite not to be missed."
