Name the Precincts
Information Provided by the Police Department

The Phoenix Police Department is preparing for many changes to accomodate the rapid growth of the City. In 2006 the City dedicated funding to build two new precinct stations in high growth areas of the City. The two  new police precinct sites are at 99th Avenue and Lower Buckeye and Cave Creek and Smokehouse Trail (south of Carefree Highway). In addition, the City obtained funding to build a new station on land near the current Squaw Peak Precinct. t is intended all three of theses facilities will be fully operational during the calendar year 2010.

The station at 99th Avenue and Lower Buckeye is approximately 85% complete as of January 2009. The Department will move into the building and begin offering limited services during the summer of 2009.

In addition to selecting names for the two new precincts, we will be re-naming the Squaw Peak Precinct at the same time. The new name for what is now the Squaw Peak Precinct will be implemented with the opening of the new building.

We are asking for input on the names of these buildings as we move forward in the planning process. It is our intention to select several options from the public and employee input.
