Investigations

The Investigations Division is comprised of Violent Crimes Bureau, Family Investigations Bureau, and Drug Enforcement Bureau.

Alarm Detail

Each year false alarms cost all of us millions of dollars and thousands of wasted man hours. The Phoenix Police Department, as well as the security companies, must spend a significant amount of time and money responding to false alarms.

Drug Enforcement Bureau

The Drug Enforcement Bureau (DEB) is responsible for investigation and suppression of illegal narcotics within Phoenix. The bureau is also involved in the interdiction of drug trafficking through the Sky Harbor International Airport and shipping facilities throughout the city.

Family Investigations Bureau

The Family Investigations Bureau was established January 1, 1999, after the Phoenix Mayor and City Council approved the establishment of the Family Advocacy Center (FAC) at 2120 North Central Avenue.

Violent Crimes Bureau

The Violent Crimes Bureau is comprised of four units: Homicide, Selective Investigations, Technical Investigations, and General Assignments.

Hate Crimes

The Hate Crimes Advisory Committee was established in August 1994 through the initial efforts of members of the Anti-Defamation League, the Arizona Human Rights Fund and the Phoenix Police Department.

Missing Persons

The Phoenix Police Department Missing Persons Detail is responsible for the follow-up investigation of missing person and runaway juvenile reports. Additionally, the Missing Persons Detail investigates custodial interference cases.

Silent Witness

Silent Witness is a Metro Phoenix program designed to provide you with an anonymous means of providing police with information on non-drug felony crimes you have witnessed or may have knowledge of.
