Suspect flees after hitting, critically injuring elderly man

Phoenix police are asking citizens to call if they may have witnessed or have information concerning an early morning hit-and-run near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road. The collision occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010.  When police arrived at the scene they found a critically injured 80-year-old man who had been struck by a dark gray Nissan Titan or Armada (2004 to 2008 model). The victim was identified as Alfred Randolph, who later died of his injuries.

Officers learned that the elderly man had just gotten off a city bus on the north side of Thomas Road and as he was crossing south, he was struck by the westbound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
