Project Planning and Development Resources
The following resources may provide assistance in planning and developing
your grant proposal:
Basic Guide to Program Evaluation: provides guidance toward planning and implementing an evaluation process for for-profit or nonprofit programs -- there are many kinds of evaluations that can be applied to programs, for example, goals-based, process-based, outcomes-based, etc
Phoenix Demographics Characteristics: The latest Phoenix demographic information from the U.S. Census, including General, Social, Economic, and Housing characteristics
Artability: an organization that acts as a bridge between arts organizations and the disability community by providing technical advice and information on developing and promoting accessible events and spaces.
Arizona Arts Standards: K-12 instructional levels with performance objectives for each of the arts disciplines.
Arizona Artists Roster: a roster of artists in all disciplines selected through a panel process for their artistic quality, ability to communicate about their artform, and their ability to carry out a residency.
Arizona Arts Education Funding Resources: a basic list of possible funding resources for arts education-related programs. For a copy, call 602-495-0189).
Arizona Alliance for Arts Education Tool-Kit: a resource manual featuring arts organizations that provide outreach programs and field trip opportunities
Arizona Commission on the Arts: offers state-wide grants programs that can be used to to match POAC project grants.
Artist Teacher Institute: provides strategies and tools for teaching with and about the arts and helps classroom teachers, arts specialists, and administrators integrate the arts into their classrooms. funding is available for under-served school districts or local arts organizations that wish to sponsor a two-three day professional development institute for teachers in their community.
Arts & Business Council of Greater Phoenix: A&BC strengthens the management of nonprofit arts and cultural organizations by placing business professionals as volunteer management consultants to work with arts managers and their boards on projects in financial and strategic planning, marketing, information technology, and more.
Arts & Sciences in Education Network: Links to area arts organizations that provide meaningful learning experiences for young people through outreach programs and field trip opportunities. These organizations offer extended residencies and teacher training.
Arts Education Partnership: a national coalition of arts, education, business, philanthropic and government organizations that demonstrate and promote the essential role of the arts in the learning and development of every child.
Community Centers: offer a wide variety of programs and activities for all ages. The centers also have rooms available to rent for activities
Cultural Facilities Resource Guide: a directory of Phoenix area facilities available for rent by arts organizations and artists for performances, exhibits, rehearsals, workshops and meetings.
Family Services Centers: provide services that promote self-sufficiency to eligible adults and families. Centers operate in partnership with public and private agencies to provide a comprehensive array of onsite services for low-income Phoenix residents. Senior Centers: designed to involve elder participants in activities which prevent isolation, withdrawal and loneliness. (For performance/exhibit/workshop space information, see the Cultural Facilities Resource Guide)
Senior and Disabled Housing Facilities: provides and promotes diversified living environments and services for seniors and people with disabilities at six complexes in the City of Phoenix. Site management and the Resident Council join together to provide social, educational, recreational and musical events for residents
Valley Ethnic Resource Directory: a directory of non-arts centered ethnic organizations interested in assisting arts groups with program planning, collaborations and other resources.
Valley Metro School Outreach Program: A transportation program for field trips. Students in preschool through 8th grade who are traveling with their teacher are eligible for a free all-day field trip pass. To plan your trip call 602-253-5000.
